Eating a vegetarian or vegan diet can get a little contentious. One side might argue that meat is bad for your heart, cholesterol levels and other health markers. Those on the other side of the argument might argue that vegan and vegetarian diets are short on nutrients.
These results are somewhat consistent with another poll from Faunalytics, whose mission is "to make you more powerful in creating change for animals," which reports only about 3 percent vegetarian, although it indicates the number of people declaring a decrease in their meat intake is increasing.
There’s nothing wrong with eating meat if you’re doing so in moderation (I for one, will never give up the occasional cheeseburger), but research does show that vegetarians tend to be healthier overall, and even live longer.
